Political Cartoon Criticizes the Intolerable Acts, 1774

The cartoon shows British Prime Minister Lord North forcing tea, which represents the Intolerable Acts, down the throat of the American colonies.

The cartoon first appeared in a London publication in May 1774. Shortly after, American engraver and patriot Paul Revere copied the engraving and published it in the colonies.
