Extra Edition Corrects False Union Victory, 1861
The Philadelphia Inquirer corrects itself on July 22 by admitting the "Total Route of Our Army" — the Union Army — at Bull Run, or Manassas. An earlier edition had wrongly proclaimed its victory.
